THE TRAVEL DIARIES: NEW YORK CITY

New York City is where my family and I are headed this spring!! WOO. I couldn't be more excitedddd. This will be my first time in the city that never sleeps and I have an overwhelming list in my mind of things I want to see and places I want to go. I'm primarily looking forward to 3 big things:

one.) The food. Scouting out quaint coffee shops and delicious hole-in-the-wall restaurants. PLUS, we are ecstatic to be part of a food tour! My parents did one when they were there last and always talk about how great it was.

two.) The people and the cultural diversity. I am excited to be overwhelmed by the millions of individuals who make up the city. (Following Brandon Stanton's Humans of New York kind of spurred this on.)

three.) The photography opportunities. More than anything, I am looking forward to having the honour of photographing such a world wonder. The sky high buildings and their architecture, the constant business of streets lined with yellow cabs and hustling people, and markets strung with locals displaying and selling their things as the faint echoes of bartering fills the avenue.

Have you been to NYC!? Do you have any favourite places? Any must sees? Let me know! I'd love to hear. Thanks!

LAST WEEK

Last week in Edmonton, we had dreamyyy weather - for being January. It was in between -5 and +6 degrees celsius, which in Alberta, is us being spoiled rotten.  And with so much snow from a prior two months of dumps and blizzards, there were puddles and other bigger bodies of water everywhereeee. I was able to where my spring jacket which made me feel all kinds of great!

Blackbyrd Myoozik!
